More than 31000 cases of Bumble Bee canned tuna recalled

Bumble Bee Foods has issued a nationwide recall of more than 31,000 cans of its Bumble Bee Tuna. Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Water with printed dates 02/10/2019, 02/16/2019, 02/17/2019, 02/18/2019, 02/22/2019, 02/23/2019, 02/25/2019; 5 oz.

The San-Diego based company initiated the recall amid concerns that the affected products were possibly under-processed.

"Under-processed affected products could result in product contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens and lead to serious illness if consumed", the company said in a recall notice. If it starts with the letter "T", as in "TOA2BSCAFB" for example, then it is part of the recall if it is one of the said Bumble Bee's products.

In that incident, the victim's family reportedly received $1.5 million of the settlement payout, and San Diego-based Bumble Bee is required to spend $3 million to replace outdated tuna ovens with video cameras installed. The number can also be called to inquire about possible reimbursement.

Bumble Bee has been investigating the case closely along with the co-packer and the FDA to expedite the process of products' removal from store shelves.

If you have the product, you're asked to throw it away.
