Gingrich says Trump is a 'necessary candidate'

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, left, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, right, acknowledge the crowd during a campaign rally at the Sharonville Convention Center, Wednesday, in Cincinnati.

People like Senator Bob Corker and Eric Trump have been pointing at Ivanka Trump to become vice president for Donald Trump.

"It is, of course, entirely possible that Mr. Trump is playing coy to earn more news coverage", Horowitz suggests. A Trump campaign official told CNN, however, that the two former rivals had agreed not to work against each other.

Mr. Sasse did not respond in kind - but Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona did.

Sessions added: "I think it was definitely unity building and everyone I've talked to said it was a very productive and good meeting". "As a proud Republican and transgender woman, I want to support courageous Republicans who advocate for LGBT freedom..."

And with that in mind, Trump spent some time with lawmakers yesterday, addressing House and Senate Republicans separately, hoping to cultivate a stronger relationship.

After Flake told Donald to stop attacking Mexicans and Mexican-Americans, Donald in turn threatened to campaign against him, and predicted that he would lose re-election - to which Flake pointed out that he's not actually up for re-election this year.

Trump held a meeting with more than 200 members from the House G.O.P., billed as a meet-and-greet, in which he emphasized his desire to appoint a proven conservative justice to the Supreme Court. "I really do. I just can't support him given the things that he's said", Flake told reporters later.

Caitlyn Jenner has been invited to Cleveland to help provide counterprogramming during the Republican Convention.

King said Ivanka Trump's star power was evident from the meeting.

According to a CBS report, a group of platform committee members is looking to change the party's language to "equality language".

Not surprisingly, Trump also supports throwing out environmental regulations - any why not, global warming was, after all, "created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive", according to Trump. In a general election matchup, Trump receives the support of 85% of Republicans and Republican leaners, compared with the 91% of Democrats and Democratic leaners who back Clinton - a modest but significant difference in support within the candidates' respective parties.

Trump has said he agrees with the concept of opening ties but thinks that the US should have made a better deal.

Kirk wasn't the only Senate Republican to tussle with Trump.

"I think it's something that should be repeated every month or so so we can have the opportunity to visit with each other", Boozman said.

He says in an early morning tweet: "Prayers and condolences to all of the families who are so thoroughly devastated by the horrors we are all watching take place in our country".

In some ways, the South Florida lawmakers' coolness toward Trump reflects their constituents' views.
