Lin-Manuel Miranda ended his Tony-winning run as Alexander Hamilton in the history-making Broadway show he wrote and starred in Saturday night with an emotional curtain call.

It will also be a good-bye to Leslie Odom Jr., who portrays Aaron Burr, and Phillipa Soo, who plays Eliza Schuyler.

The world turned upside down for "Hamilton" fans when the main cast trio announced they were leaving the show.

Javier Munoz, who was Miranda's understudy, will now play the title character seven times a week.

On Saturday night, Miranda said farewell to his Hamilton gig and then later, to his Hamilton hair!

He was in good company: Among the late-arriving audience members were music star Jennifer Lopez and her two young twins, along with newsman Charlie Rose and Secretary of State John Kerry. "It's really cool that he infused hip-hop" into the traditional Broadway musical.

NEW YORK, NY - FEBRUARY 15: Lin-Manuel Miranda and cast of "Hamilton" performs on stage during "Hamilton" GRAMMY performance for The 58th GRAMMY Awards at Richard Rodgers Theater on February 15, 2016 in New York City. Odom Jr. will be doing a jazz concert series at the McKittrick Hotel starting this week while Soo will be readying for the lead in the upcoming musical, Amelie, based on the French film.

A Chicago production of the show, which won 11 Tony awards last month, is set to debut in the fall, while a touring production will kick off in 2017 before moving to Los Angeles. "I will cherish #Hamilton and everyone at the RR Theatre".

"It's been a bit of a day", he tweeted after the show. "'Til next time, folks!'"

At this year's Tony Awards, Miranda joked that Alexander Hamilton is a role that he could always return to play for several years. He'll also star in the forthcoming Mary Poppins sequel opposite Emily Blunt in a new role that is not Dick Van Dyke's chimney sweep Bert.
