With the opportunity to close out the Cubs and hoist its first World Series trophy since 1948, Cleveland finally succumbed to Chicago at Wrigley Field on a brisk and windy Sunday night, dropping a 3-2 decision in Game 5. They have to take it in Cleveland.

Make no mistake, the odds are still very much against the Cubs winning their first World Series in more than a century. The Indians, who lead the Cubs three games to two in the World Series, could win a championship at home for the first time since 1920. I'll check with him tomorrow. The nerves are still there, but the hope is still there, it's still glimmering, and it's a little brighter. However, these were the only runs of the game. On a team of preternaturally composed budding stars like Kris Bryant and Addison Russell, Schwarber is the go-for-broke kid.

He struck out the side in the first inning, and fans inside Wrigley roared approvingly. I mean, they've got a lot of other good bats, too. "It was a good overall baseball game". It's unbelievable. Great win here. The offense has trouble scoring runs.

"It's normally been Contreras with Kyle (Hendricks), also, but tomorrow (Tuesday) you're going to see Willson", Maddon said in a Monday evening conference call with reporters.

The Cubs won at least three games in a row 16 times during the regular season and they will have to do that to win their first Series since 1908.

Six of the 46 previous World Series teams that fell behind 3-1 came back to win the championship, with the last one accomplishing the feat being the Kansas City Royals over the St. Louis Cardinals in 1985.

Said Napoli: "We have all the faith in the world in JT". They got to take it in Cleveland.

He hadn't worked out many details on Sunday night, except for one: "I am planning on going up there, yes", he said. "They're going to be pretty fired up, and they're going to get us going".

A pair of errors in Game 4 - in the same inning, no less - couldn't have helped his mindset. They faced three elimination games, and took care of the first one. But what about that first point, the one regarding the general quality of the team making the comeback?

"This guy's used to just getting three outs", Cubs starter Jon Lester said. "We were all fired up to get through that". He's 4-1 with a 0.89 ERA in five postseason starts, including 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA in the World Series.

Chapman finished with a 1-2-3 ninth. He threw 35 fastballs, six sliders and one changeup. In particular, in the eighth inning, with the tying run on third base, Chapman came up with a huge inning-ending out against the red-hot Francisco Lindor. Maddon wore a Cubs ski hat with a blue pompom rather than a baseball cap. Aside from that, the Cubs are having trouble even putting Cleveland's breaking stuff in play. Unless you believe in karma (and believe me, the city of Cleveland did everything in its power to perpetuate the Warriors jokes), what does that have to do with a baseball team in Chicago? "So why stop? This is entertaining to us".

"When KB hit that home run, it breathed life back into the stadium", Zobrist added.

"Nobody's ever just run to the bat rack when Chapman comes in the game", Indians manager Terry Francona said.

Heyward grabbed onto the brick wall in the right-field corner in the third, then reached back to catch Bauer's wind-blown foul fly.
